Role Overview

The Business Transformation Manager will lead the strategic, financial, and operational evolution of a fast‑growing Irish retail and e‑commerce company specialising in vapes, candies, and niche soft drinks not commonly available on the high street. This role blends business transformation, financial and investment analytics, risk and credit analytics, and fraud prevention to support the company’s expansion into multiple retail outlets and a scalable online presence.

The ideal candidate is a person with a Bachelor/Master degree in Business and reasonable relevant experience, who is commercially sharp, analytically strong, and capable of providing support for sustainable growth, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

1. Business Transformation & Strategic Growth

  • Lead the end‑to‑end transformation roadmap to scale from a single outlet to a multi‑store retail chain and high‑performing e‑commerce operation.
  • Design and implement operating models, SOPs, and performance frameworks for retail, warehousing, supply chain, and online sales.
  • Identify new market opportunities, product lines, and revenue channels (e.g., exclusive beverages, limited‑edition confectionery, premium vape lines).
  • Oversee store rollout planning, including site selection analysis, financial viability assessments, and operational readiness.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives, including automation, CRM optimisation, loyalty programmes, and data‑driven customer engagement.

2. Finance & Investment Analytics

  • Conduct financial modelling, forecasting, and investment analysis to support expansion decisions.
  • Evaluate capital expenditure (CAPEX) for new store openings, inventory expansion, and technology investments.
  • Analyse product profitability, pricing strategies, and margin optimisation across retail and online channels.
  • Prepare business cases for investors, lenders, or internal stakeholders to support growth funding.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial KPIs to ensure sustainable scaling.

3. Risk Analytics & Compliance

  • Develop and maintain risk frameworks covering operational, financial, regulatory, and supply chain risks.
  • Ensure compliance with Irish and EU regulations relating to vape products, age‑restricted sales, online transactions, and consumer protection.
  • Conduct scenario modelling and stress testing for expansion, supply disruptions, and market volatility.
  • Implement internal controls to safeguard assets, inventory, and financial integrity.

4. Credit & Fraud Analytics

  • Build and manage fraud‑prevention systems for e‑commerce transactions, including payment verification, chargeback monitoring, and suspicious activity detection.
  • Develop credit risk assessment processes for B2B customers, wholesale partners, or franchisees (if applicable).
  • Analyse transaction patterns to identify anomalies, high‑risk behaviours, or potential financial crime indicators.
  • Collaborate with payment processors, banks, and compliance partners to maintain secure and compliant operations.

5. Data, Insights & Performance Management

  • Lead the development of dashboards and analytics tools to track sales, customer behaviour, inventory turnover, and store performance.
  • Use advanced analytics to generate actionable insights for marketing, operations, and product strategy.
  • Establish KPIs and reporting structures for retail staff, online teams, and senior management.
  • Drive a culture of data‑driven decision‑making across the organisation.

6. Operational Excellence & Project Management

  • Manage cross‑functional projects including store launches, system upgrades, logistics improvements, and digital initiatives.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, supply chain optimisation, and procurement strategies.
  • Implement scalable processes for stock management, fulfilment, and customer service.
  • Ensure smooth integration between retail POS systems, e‑commerce platforms, and financial systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Must hold a minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Business. Master’s degree in the Business will be advantageous.
  • Although not necessary, but any relevant experience will be considered a strength.
  • Strong academic background in finance, investment analytics, risk analytics, credit or fraud analytics.
  • Understanding of retail operations, supply chain, and inventory management.
  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen. (Will be assessed at interview stage.)
