Ireland is home to some of the most respected universities in Europe, offering a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs. Here’s why students choose Ireland:

  • English is the primary language of instruction.
  • Degrees are recognized worldwide.
  • Access to post-study work and long-term stay options.
  • High academic standards and innovation-led learning.
  • Safe, welcoming, and multicultural society.

Ireland is also home to major global companies, creating strong internship and job placement opportunities for graduates.

There are two main categories of study visas in Ireland:
Long Stay ‘D’ Visa (Stamp 2):
This is the standard visa for full-time academic programs longer than 90 days.

  • Required for undergraduate, postgraduate, and long-term diploma programs.
  • Allows part-time work (up to 20 hours per week during term and 40 hours during holidays).
  • Eligible for post-study work under Stamp 1G.

Short Stay ‘C’ Visa:
This visa is for short-term courses (less than 90 days), such as:

  • English language training.
  • Short professional certification programs.

Work is not permitted under this visa, and it cannot be extended or converted into a long-term visa.

To apply for a student visa, you must:

  • Show proof of tuition fee payment (minimum €6,000).
  • Demonstrate sufficient funds to cover living expenses (at least €10,000).
  • Provide valid private medical insurance.
  • Submit academic transcripts and English proficiency test scores (IELTS/TOEFL/PTE).
  • Write a strong Statement of Purpose (SOP).
  • Hold a valid passport with at least 12 months validity.

You must prove that you have sufficient funds to support yourself in Ireland. This includes:

  • €10,000 in a bank account for living costs (for one academic year).
  • Proof that tuition fees are paid, either partially or in full.
  • If sponsored, an affidavit of support, along with the sponsor’s bank statements, salary slips, and ID.

All funds must be accessible, verifiable, and held in a regulated financial institution.

At Expert Consultants, we guide students through a proven, step-by-step visa process:

  • Step 1: Get Admission
Apply and receive an unconditional offer from a recognized Irish institution.

Pay at least €6,000 towards your tuition to receive an official confirmation of enrollment.
  • Step 3: Prepare Documents
Gather all required documents including passport, SOP, financial proof, academic certificates, and insurance.
  • Step 4: Apply Online via AVATS
Complete your visa application through Ireland’s AVATS system and print the summary form.
  • Step 5: Submit Documents
Send your documents to the relevant Irish Embassy or VFS office as instructed on AVATS.
  • Step 6: Wait for a Decision
Processing takes around 4 to 8 weeks. Apply at least 3 months before your course start date.

Yes. If you hold a Stamp 2 student visa, you can work:

  • Up to 20 hours per week during the academic year.
  • Up to 40 hours per week during official holidays (summer and winter breaks).

After graduating, international students can apply for a Stamp 1G, which allows them to stay in Ireland to look for work.

  • 1 year for undergraduate degree holders.
  • 2 years for postgraduate (master’s or doctoral) graduates.

During this period, you can work full-time and apply for a Critical Skills or General Employment Permit, leading to long-term residency.
